Gucci designer Frida Giannini has been named 'International Designer of the Year', the prestigious title awarded by Japan's Fashion Editor´s Club every year.
It's the first time that this coveted award has gone to a woman. The award coincides with Giannini's Asian tour to promote the brand in countries like Japan and Korea, and to inaugurate a Gucci store in China.
Katsuto Tai, director of the Fashion Editor´s Club, said that Giannini was chosen because of her ability to anticipate trends, her innovative creativity and her ability to coordinate styles creating authentic luxury products.
With the inauguration of the new Gucci store in China, the Italian brand will have 28 outlets in today's best market for luxury brands. Congratulations Frida!
