It's one of the most long-awaited nights of the year, when the top celebs from film and tv appear on one of the most coveted red carpets. This year it rained on Beverly Hills, but the umbrellas only added to the glamor of the occasion.
After numerous years of dressing celebrities, Tom Ford walked up the red carpet as a film director, wearing one of his own tuxedos. He was accompanied by actress Julianne Moore, who wore an elegant Balenciaga number.
This year, the actors wanted to look really striking. As ever, the men went for classically elegant looks. Gerard Butler wore Dolce & Gabbana, as did Chace Crawford, our favorite Gossip Boy, while John Krasinski, the nice guy from The Office, went for Prada. His partner, Emily Blunt, looked radiant in a Dolce & Gabbana dress, while Sam Worthington sported Burberry's British elegance.
But the red carpet is mostly about the girls. And this year there was lots of classic glamor and nude and lilac tones. Drew Barrymore wore a champagne colored Atelier Versace number, while Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas was in D&G violet tones.
January Jones wore an glamorous, really feminine Lanvin dress, while Penélope Cruz was elegant and austere in another Armani Privé creation. Sandra Bullock looked radiant in a violet Bottega Veneta dress.
Cameron Diaz felt that the rainy day needed a touch of color, so she wore a vibrant red dress designed by Alexander McQueen.
Jennifer Aniston showed off her legs in an austere Valentino Couture dress, which she teamed with Versace shoes.
As expected, Marion Cotillard wore a dress designed by Christian Dior with Jimmy Choo sandals, and she looked as innately elegant as ever. Jennifer Garner showed off her figure with an Atelier Versace number, as did Christina Aguilera.
The Nina Ricci brand dressed Nicole Kidman, and Chloe Sevigny brought us a lilac Valentino dress full of frills.
Mariah Carey wore an extremely low-cut Herve Leger dress, while Marchesa, a red carpet classic, was spotted on the lovely Kate Hudson.
Heidi Klum wore a bright Cavalli dress, and Diane Krueger was pure elegance and fantasy in Chanel jewelry and a Christian Lacroix dress.
