Dior celebrate the 50th anniversary of their first varnish collection, with a special focus on two of the brand's iconic colors: Royalty Red and Montaigne Gray, shades that characterized Christian Dior's style - the femininity, glamor and sophistication of the Dior woman.
In 1962, Christian Dior was the first haute couture brand to launch a varnish collection under his own name. It featured three red tones and one white one, a range that was later extended to match whole collections - a key accessory. Dior went on to create a wide palette of colors, from coral, brown and transparent tones to blues and greens.
