Miriam Ponsa continues to present 080 Barcelona Fashion with collections created using land-based artisan techniques. For the spring/summer 2013 season, presented this week in Barcelona's Palau de Pedralbes, Ponsa took inspiration from the ritual of honey harvesting.
The Golden Harvest is a unisex line featuring Catalan artesan techniques and textiles, combined with new tones and textures. Latex, for instance, features in the collection, in bermudas. Ponsa works with techniques like hand knitting and tapestry to create beehive-shaped jackets, which along with the veil net hats are probably the most literal part of the line.
Using a basic palette of earthy tones and pure white, this line incorporates ropes and wickerwork in comfortable organic silhouettes for men and women, accessorized with the designer's iconic sandals.
