In his long-awaited haute couture collection, Jean Paul Gaultier brought us creations that paid tribute to his interest in calligraphy. Lace and embroidery were just some of the exclusive, meticulous details which came in black and white, like ink on paper.

Trousers turned into corsets, and silhouettes took on an 80s look with dresses, some of which were inspired by swimsuits.

Gaultier's ode to Yves Saint Laurent was obvious too - he always held him in high esteem as a designer and dedicated some tuxedo pieces to him. But the most iconic pieces had a Spanish touch: bullfighter trousers. Sophistication and elegance.
