Diane von Fürstenberg often goes against popular trends. Now, just as the recession is seeing top brands abandoning their cruise 2010 shows, Diane, CFDA president, surprises us with a New York fashion show to remind us that fashion should never lose its vitality.
Alex de Betak produced the show and made Diane's collection radiate colour and optimism. Diane's philosophy must be to always look on the bright side, because the collection simply exudes hope and fantasy. Rio de Janeiro was a clear inspiration for the show, with its confetti, details and colour palette.
In the first row, Jack Dorsey took note of the looks that should feature in the next ad campaign.
Oranges, fuschias, greens and confetti of various sizes brought the gathered dresses and sixties style bikinis to life. And ribbons were the stars of the collection.
