The Yves Saint Laurent show during Paris Fashion Week was the perfect occasion to bid farewell to the brand's creative director since 2004, when he replaced Tom Ford at the helm of the French brand. Since he started out in design, Pilati has used the eighties as a point of reference, one he remembers one last time with 8-shaped silhouettes: defined waists and structured shoulders.

Though black was the main tone of the show, violet and dark green complemented the line's metallic details, along with white in total looks toward the end of the show.

This end of an era was marked by a sensual female figure, dressed in leather, clean lines and dipping necklines.

So far its only a rumor, but Hedi Slimane, the former Dior Homme director turned photographer, is being mentioned as one of the possible names that might take over at YSL. What better way to return to fashion than with French chic at his feet...
