With each season, Riccardo Tisci is making Givenchy a cult brand for lovers of design, fashion and true savoir-faire. With exquisite artesan techniques and dramatic details, his fall 2012 haute couture collection is a return to medieval times, viewed from a hypothetical future.
Taking inspiration from contemporary Roma Gypsies, while retaining Givenchy's French heritage, Tisci designed a collection of ten looks featuring floor-length layers embroidered with crystals and stones, creating dramatic mosaics inside and out.
The cast was diverse, but had one thing in common: dark hair and skin. The creative director presented simple lines full of details, with Joan Smalls, Lea T. and Liya Kebede.
The long layers are teamed with fitted pieces of leather, creating mosaics similar to the sequins, fringes, chains and velvet jumpsuits teamed with low-heeled boots and mysterious masks hiding a subtle, eloquent delicacy.
