For spring/summer 2013, Stella McCartney combines floral and animal prints with clean, minimalist lines. The British designer's latest collection is rich, chic and super sophisticated, with seventies silhouettes, textiles from the nineties, and lots of innovation.
The limited color palette features black, white and yellow with hints of pink, orange and blue. The fun, somewhat contradictory line features floral and leopard prints, check prints on satiny and iridescent materials and lace with fringes. Simple garments are enhanced with shine, for a sporty-glam style, while the total looks come in white, sky blue, black, yellow, leopard or floral print, and can be mixed and matched too.
Despite the focus on garments and textures, the shape and structure of the designs are important too. The look is softly androgenous, with volume in the arms and chest, box jackets, fitted jackets and pleated pants teamed with pointed platforms and purses. The highlight of the whole line is the leopard skin bomber jacket.
