Ashes is the spring summer 2009 collection by Roman brand Aroma 30, the alter-ego of Michela Fasanella. Her collection for this summer is mono-coloured, with white as its main theme.
The collection features lots of volumes, which she's created with drapes in jerseys that look like geometric panels. Her pure white palette comes in shiny and interesting textures like silk, linen and cotton.
The photos are by Roberta Ridolfi. Many have commented that Michela has made her collection more sophisticated by using light, flowy materials. Her years as a student at Saint Martins are by now a distant memory, as are her collaborations with Salvatore Ferragamo and Valentino R.E.D. A fervent admirer of designers like Margiela, Yamamoto, Vionnet and Slimane, Michela has created her own unique identity with this white-themed collection.
