The Fashion Club is an American brand making its debut with a capsule collection for fall/winter 2012. Recently established by designer Heidi Leung and blogger Lulu Chang, The Fashion Club presents seven essentially masculine pieces reinterpreted for women.
Leung and Chang have created a capsule collection around key men's garments like a white shirt, a bomber jacket, black pleated pants and jeans, all designed for women. There's a denim dress with cuts, a bomber jacket made of angora and pleated pants to the ankle with a peplum-style miniskirt piece. The brand also bring us a bellybutton-revealing cashmere top in black or cream and a flirtatious flared miniskirt. The minimalist, sophisticated line features obvious references to the nineties, in a very limited color palette of white, cream, black and two shades of denim.
Heidi and Lulu met as students in UC Berkeley. Since then, Lulu has been working on her style blog Lulu and Your Mom, and has written a couple of books about relationships. She is also the author of The Fashion Coloring Book, sold in Barneys New York. Heidi studied a masters in fashion design at London's Central Saint Martins, and she has worked since with Alexander McQueen and Christopher Kane.
All the garments are manufactured in the U.S. and the prices will range from €200 to €800.
