Serbian designer Roksanda Ilincic is gaining fans each season at a staggering speed. With clients such as Björk, Cate Blanchet, Kate Hudson, Margherita Missoni and Eva Herzigova, Ilincic creates avant-garde pieces with an haute couture flavor. The former model from Belgrade graduated from the prestigious Central Saint Martins in 2000, and since then London has been her adopted home.

Roksanda's style is fresh and feminine, and she fuses each new collection with a modern elegance and lots of color. She tends to use silks and satins for cocktail dresses and evening skirts, accompanied by basic cotton t-shirts or tracksuit pants. She experiments with proportions in her evening garments, with volumes defining the hips, shoulders and sleeves. With a direct, exhuberant use of color, contradictions are another part of her style, which is sophisticated yet casual.

Roksanda's latest collections are a swimwear line with shiny lycras and vibrant blocks of color, and a spring summer 2012 line that is almost pure perfection. With her original, artful use of color, the designer combines turquoise with mustard, fuschia with light gray and sky blue with navy, to create chic garments suited to all markets.
