CHANEL Dover Street Market

As we mentioned to you a few weeks ago, Chanel is commemorating its Paris-London collection by opening a temporary shop in the prestigious Dover Street Market. And as you have probably already seen in our shopping section, in addition to products from the new collection, they are also selling products that mix UK iconography with a Parisian touch.
Chanel’s corners have taken over numerous areas of the DSM shop, and if one thing stands out about them, it’s the omnipresence of Mr Lagerfeld as the figure on the displays.
Chanel has adapted to DSM’s handmade look, and has some of the usual shop cabins, in jet black this time. The visual merchandising team’s display is incredible, especially considering that the shop will only be open until the 25th of June. But it’ll be worth it in the long run, thanks to Chanel’s unconditional audience and to the authentic limited editions created exclusively for the event.
Any negative points? Perhaps for those who visit the shop to enjoy its newspaper library, which stocks magazines from all over the world – because now, it’s been replaced by a Chanel library, bursting with volumes upon volumes of biographies and studies about the brand…
The inauguration had to include a United Kingdom icon. We’re talking about Agyness Deyn, who wore a dress from this spring/summer 2008 season… a Chanel dress, of course. Remember to visit if you’re travelling to London soon.
